Pizza Calzone

Tucked away in the heart of Banbury at 36-37 Parson's Street, Pizza Calzone is the kind of Italian restaurant you don’t just visit-you experience. From the moment you walk through the wheelchair-accessible entrance, there’s a comforting warmth that wraps around you like Nonna’s kitchen. The scent of bubbling tomato sauce, oven-fired crusts, and fresh herbs hits you before the door even closes behind you.

Let’s talk food. Pizza Calzone isn’t just a name-it’s a promise, and they deliver. The Calzone Classico is a showstopper: golden, crispy on the outside, oozing with melted cheese and savory fillings inside. It’s comfort food redefined. But don’t stop there-fans of traditional Italian fare will swoon over their Margherita Pizza, with its perfect blend of fresh mozzarella, basil, and tomato sauce. And if you’re feeling a little fancy? The Pizza Parma, topped with prosciutto and arugula, hits all the right notes-salty, peppery, and downright addictive.

Seafood lovers aren’t left behind either. The Seafood Paella is rich and satisfying, layered with mussels, prawns, and saffron rice. It’s not something you’d expect at a pizza place, but Pizza Calzone goes beyond expectations in the best way. Their Spaghetti Alla Bolognese and Spaghetti Carbonara are no afterthoughts either-saucy, hearty, and generously portioned. There’s also the Ravioli Aurora, stuffed with creamy ricotta and bathed in a smooth pink sauce that tastes like a hug in a bowl.

And then there’s the Gnocchi Quattro Formaggi. Creamy, cheesy, and topped with caramelized onions-it’s rich, comforting, and absolutely crave-worthy. Prefer something lighter? The Chicken Caesar Salad with crunchy romaine, shaved Parmesan, and a tangy dressing is a refreshing option, especially when paired with a glass from their extensive wine list.

Speaking of drinks-Pizza Calzone isn’t just about food. Their wine collection is impressively curated, with great reds and whites that complement every dish. If you’re in the mood for something stronger, there’s Limoncello, cocktails, and even spirits on offer. And yes, beer and coffee lovers, you’re covered too. Their espresso is a must-try-strong, aromatic, and just what you need after a satisfying meal.

Dessert? You bet. Homemade Panna Cotta with just the right jiggle, creamy rice pudding, decadent chocolate cake, and the classic Tartufo Classico are all ready to sweeten your visit. Don’t forget a scoop of gelato to wrap things up-it’s as smooth and creamy as anything you’d find in Rome.

The space itself is as charming as the menu. There’s outdoor seating for sunny days, cozy dine-in options for date nights, and kerbside pickup if you’re bringing the magic home. It's popular for lunch if you're taking a quick work break, and popular for dinner if you're settling in with friends or family. Solo diners? You’re welcome too-there’s a laid-back vibe that makes everyone feel like they belong.

Vegans and vegetarians will also feel at home here. With a clear commitment to vegan-friendly and vegetarian dishes, Pizza Calzone ensures there’s something for every preference. Even those who prefer a quick bite, healthy options, or late-night food will find plenty to enjoy.

In a town like Banbury, Pizza Calzone stands out-not just for its authentic Italian cooking, but for the way it effortlessly blends quality, atmosphere, and hospitality. Whether you’re in for a full Italian feast, a casual pizza night, or just a coffee and dessert, this spot serves up the kind of flavor and comfort that keeps people coming back.

Amazing place in Banbury which has - let's face it - only slim pickings for good food. The place feels very welcoming and there is lots of inside space. Facilities are also very clean. We were served attentively and food came very quickly despite it being quite busy. Portion sizes were huge and we were fine with 2 meals and a salad between 3. The manager came over after and offered my kids free small ice creams which I really appreciated and was very sweet. I am definitely coming back to try their pastas. Highly recommended

We had a lovely evening dining here last night. The restaurant was absolutely full, but the service remained fantastic—attentive, friendly, and efficient throughout. The food was delicious from start to finish. We shared the bruschetta to start, followed by a pizza each, and finished with a tiramisu that was beautifully light and fresh. The atmosphere was lively, which added to the buzz, but it did get quite loud at times—especially when the birthday songs came on (several times during the evening!). It’s lovely to see people celebrating, though the music might benefit from being a touch shorter. We did find it on the pricier side, but overall, it was a really enjoyable experience with great service and tasty food.

A Slice of Heaven: Pizza Calzone Experience If you've ever wondered what it would be like to take the best parts of pizza and fold them into a perfect, portable package, the pizza calzone will answer that question with a resounding "delicious." A true culinary marvel, the pizza calzone combines the savory comfort of a pizza with the satisfying warmth of a stuffed dough pocket, creating an experience that’s nothing short of extraordinary. The dough is everything you hope for: golden, fluffy, and slightly crispy on the outside, with a soft and pillowy texture inside. The moment you cut into it, the filling spills out in a tantalizing cascade—gooey melted mozzarella cheese, tangy marinara sauce, and any of your favorite toppings, all sealed in perfect harmony. Whether you opt for a classic combo of pepperoni and mushrooms or a more adventurous mix of sausage and olives, each bite delivers a burst of rich, savory flavors. What sets this calzone apart is the balance. The crust is thick enough to hold everything together but not so heavy that it overwhelms the delicate, melty interior. The tangy sauce compliments the cheese beautifully, without being too acidic. The toppings are never too much—they’re distributed just right, ensuring that every bite has the perfect blend of ingredients. Whether you’re enjoying it as a hearty lunch or dinner, the pizza calzone is a satisfying meal that will leave you craving more. It’s comforting, indulgent, and utterly irresistible. Every aspect, from the texture of the dough to the vibrant, fresh ingredients, speaks to the care put into crafting this delicious dish. If you’re looking to elevate your pizza game, the pizza calzone is the ultimate upgrade.
